What a summer we had, sunshine, humidity & a lot of rain! However, the summer wanted us to benefit from the energy of the Season of Wands. Ideas, projects, love, new friends were all ushered in. Now is the time to roll up those sleeves & do a little work, harvest the many fruits that the summer has given you! The Autumn Equinox arrives on Saturday, 9-22 @ 9:54pm officially marking the start of Fall in the Northern Hemisphere, and Spring in the Southern Hemisphere. The Sun will enter Libra towards this time, those scales of Libra will aide in restoring MAAT (balance) to our work, home, love & personal lives.
What a better way to promote MAAT, the equinox is all about balance. This is a time where the day & night are of equal length, the energies coalesce. Nut, the Kemetic (Egyptian) goddess of the sky protects the feminine energy of night. It is during this time that her body is exposed, revealing the stars & cosmos that create her. Geb, the Kemetic god of the Earth heralds the masculine energy of the day time. The balanced duality of the Equinox grants equal hours of the day & night. This isn’t a coincidence; the stars remind us to facilitate that balance within ourselves let the opposing energies coalesce in you just like they will for Nut & Geb.

Sometimes we are paired with a person that is our total opposite in every way, during these times we must delve deep & remember those childhood lessons. Burt & Ernie are different in every way one neat, the other a bit messy. One introverted & the other an extrovert with a giggle, although they can truly bother each other at times it is their differences that allow them to maintain a positive friendship & a balanced home environment. The opposing energies is what makes the magic work in their pairing. There will be forces this season that oppose you, energies that go against your nature that you do in fact need to entertain. Friends, lovers, managers & bosses that bug the living hell out of you. Remember those childhood lessons of Burt & Ernie, totally different energies can blend together to create harmony.
This is the time where you will begin to bring your energy inward to prepare for the stillness of the Winter season. You will inhale deeply the Cosmic breath of life, taking in its nutrients to carry you through the holiday seasons & the winter ahead. This is the energy that is running in the background for all of us during this time, we have our day to day energy but the Earth that we live on also has a purpose & energy that it works through. Keep this in mind as events unfold for you this fall. The natural merger with equal time between Nut (Feminine) and Geb (Masculine) will see this unity try to establish itself within our minds, hearts & lives.
There is a lot of movement in the planets that also support this balance. During this time the Sun crosses our Equator to enter the Northern or Southern Hemispheres. The Sun rests over the Equator during this time, & the Southern & Northern Hemisphere receive it’s rays equally. Night & day are the same length.
In addition, the Earth’s Hertz or Heart Beat increases, which creates an inverse decrease in the Earth’s Magnetic field. The veil between the physical & spiritual worlds gets very thin. As the heartbeat of our world gets louder listen to your own, also allow yourself to hear the many messages that will be received from the spiritual realm. We are on a path to coming closer to divine oneness, it is essential as we ascend. Step into your energy & power during this time, & experience the Joy, Freedom, & True Happiness the universe wants you to maintain.
Take full advantage of this wonderful season, keep your eyes & hearts open to the change that will start to occur. It will not only be in the scenery & pretty leaves but also within. Get out to those festivals, celebrate the harvest, pick an apple or several from a tree, give a treat to a kid when they knock on your door during Halloween, get out and breathe nature & take a hike, brew pots of tea enjoy yourself & those around you!
